Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 524355), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree, preferably a PhD degree, in communication, marketing, public health, health communication or a related discipline, or an MBBS and specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine or equivalent, with at least 5 years’ teaching experience. They should be highly conversant in contemporary issues in health promotion and education, competent in case-based and problem-based teaching pedagogy, and able to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment. High proficiency in English, enthusiasm in teaching, and good mentoring skills are essential. They should demonstrate a strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in at teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. A portfolio of programme administration, curriculum design and delivery, production of teaching materials, supervision of teaching practice, quality assurance, and/or student supervision is highly preferred.

The appointee is expected to contribute to the teaching of medical, public health and global health/development courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He/She will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in social marketing and health promotion, patient-provider communication, and public health risk and crisis communication. In addition, the appointee is expected to support the School’s knowledge exchange and community engagement efforts, and perform other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
