Grade 8: £41,526 - £49,553 p.a.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced, enthusiastic individual to act as Professional and Programme Lead (in Physician  Associate Studies) leading the Physician Associate team within the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Bangor University.

Candidates will ideally have professional registration and membership of the RCP(PA) Faculty/Managed Voluntary Register for Physician Associates (MVR); together with  a degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. Medical Sciences/Biomedical Science) or equivalent;  a Postgraduate degree in qualification in Physician Associate Studies (PG Dip/MSc in PA Studies) and a recognised teaching qualification. Those with an Advance HE Senior Fellowship will be considered favourably.  The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post.

The appointed individual will provide leadership, support and academic direction to the PA teaching team, medical and non-medical colleagues to ensure high quality programme development and delivery. As the Professional and Programme Lead, the role-holder will report to the Head of School.  The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally and lead the academic team in the continued delivery of a high quality programme of education and training for Physician Associate education, which reflects the agreed curriculum requirements, the CCCU Quality Regulations and Assessment Framework, and CCCU Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy. The excellent student experience delivered through your leadership will enable these postgraduate students to gain employment and develop their careers in the emerging NHS PA workforce.

The successful post holder will: work closely with colleagues across the School of Medical and Health Sciences and the College of Human Sciences, and local NHS partners to deliver the MSc in Physician Associate Studies; be the key contact for any internal / external professional issues relating to Physician Associates and therefore represent the School on relevant regional / national committees or working groups; and engage in activities to promote the development of the PA profession as it becomes established as a main-stream NHS professional grouping.  This post represents a significant opportunity for a talented and ambitious person who has the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to make a significant contribution to educating the future medical workforce.
