£19,125 to £22,704 per annum
Churchill College requires a Health & Safety Assistant to join the H&S team. The assistant reports to the H&S Officer on a daily basis. The purpose of the role is to assist the College in complying with health & safety legislation (risk and compliance), by performing equipment testing, site inspections and maintaining accurate records.
The post would suit someone who has an interest in pursuing a career in H&S. Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH) are desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. The College will also consider supporting an apprenticeship for this role as a Safety, Health and Environment Technician (SHE apprenticeship). Experience of electrical or other testing of equipment, or an interest in electrical equipment would be helpful. Ideally the job holder will have worked in a building maintenance environment and have some knowledge of H&S regulations and their application to residential buildings and the workplace. To succeed the job holder will need to be technically minded, methodical in approach and able to work on their own a lot of the time.
If you want to follow the SHE apprenticeship option, please write this in the personal statement section of your application.
Hours of work are 37.5 per week. Weekend working will be required on limited occasions.
The College offers great benefits, including a generous pension scheme with employer contributions up to 14% of salary, a healthcare cash plan (which pays for dental treatment, eye tests etc.), a free meal on duty and on-site parking.
Closing date 29th March 2020
Interviews will be held on 7th April 2020
