The University of Wolverhampton Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences, seeks a project coordinator for the administration and organisation of an EU-funded, Marie Sklodowska-Curie ITN (Innovative Training Network) programme FEINART (grant number 860306; project value, €3,046,837.32). The position is for just under two years, until the completion of the programme in February 2024.

FEINART (The Future of European Independent Art Spaces in a Period of Socially Engaged Art) is an extensive collaboration between degree-awarding research-centres in political philosophy, art theory/practice an curatorial studies/arts management, and the independent European art sector, as the basis for the first interdisciplinary and holistic investigation of the democratic role and function of socially engaged art in Europe. In this it will train 11 Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) in order to provide the relevant academic and non-academic skills to engage with the challenges of this new artistic and cultural landscape. The 11 ESRs will be spread across four academic Beneficiaries (University of Wolverhampton University of Iceland, University of Edinburgh, Zeppelin University, Germany) and 7 Partner Organizations (Tensta Konstall, Sweden; BAK, Netherlands; State of Concept, Greece; W-Est, Italy; Tranzit.ro, Romania; Biennale Warsawa, Poland, and the Icelandic Academy of the Arts, Iceland). The training programme will provide invaluable data about the distribution, impact, and role of socially engaged art as a future contribution to funding policy recommendations on state support of art beyond the museum’s traditional functions, and debates on art and public culture

You will be required to provide operational and project management support for all the internal and external developments of the programme; coordinate the administration of the programme, including finance elements, and provide effective and efficient support for FEINART’s stakeholders; proactively establish and build relations with stakeholders in order to promote the international reach of the programme; provide analysis and evaluation of all internal and external aspects of the programme to stakeholders; oversee the development and timely delivery of the programme, coordinating inputs and communicating effectively with stakeholders; oversee the development and management of the programme website; and liaise with the Principal Investigator of FEINART, at all stages of the delivery of the programme.

Additional job specific requirements will include working knowledge of EU-funded projects (ideally ITN) and experience in conference organisation and handling social media campaigns.

You must be fluent in speaking and writing in English and will be based at the City campus University of Wolverhampton – working from home is a possibility. In addition, you will be expected to attend annual network meetings and other events in Europe, as appropriate.

The post will be part-time (0.5, FTE) starting ASAP until 29 February 2024.
