Location: Pontypridd, WALES
Deadline: 18 Mar 2024

The University of South Wales have an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a vital challenging and rewarding role to lead a team to deliver our student statutory returns in our Academic Registry.  As a key member of the department's Senior Leadership and Management Team, you will manage a small team and work with stakeholders across the University to ensure processes are in place to meet regulatory return deadlines and champion a robust approach to data quality.

With changes in the regulatory framework and nationally driven programmes of work such as Data Futures, the role will also be responsible for liaison with key sector groups such as the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW)/the new Commission for Tertiary Education & Research (CTER), the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), JISC, and the Office for Students (OfS) (for the NSS).  You will also have oversight of the ESFA Degree Apprenticeships Return and related student data sets. The role will also need to establish project and operational plans to meet the various statutory returns requirements and developments.

You will need a background in statutory and regulatory information reporting and be able to understand key data with an eye for detail and accuracy with strong communication skills, as well as the ability to use standard reporting and planning tools.  You will have experience leading similar work with a proactive leadership approach and people management skills.

We are committed to investing in our people and you’ll have access to development opportunities and networking events.  Within Academic Registry you can look forward to a warm welcome, collegiate approach and working in an institution that is proud of its values.  We operate hybrid working with the post based in Pontypridd.  Time on campus varies, depending on team activities, peaks and troughs in workloads and in-person meeting requirements, although generally, staff in Academic Registry work a minimum of two days a week on campus.  This is a full time, permanent post.
