Grade 6 (£30,487 - £36,024 p.a.) Depending on experience

This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you have an interest in recruitment, HR, business support and workforce planning? Are you an excellent communicator with the skills to manage and motivate a busy team? Do you have experience of solving problems and supporting the implementation of new initiatives? Do you thrive on building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders?

The Strategic Projects team is a group of project management and business support professionals whose focus is to drive new and emerging ideas and initiatives forward.  We act as catalysts and facilitators – creating the impetus to initiate change and improve processes for students and staff. We also act as a flexible team to resolve emerging challenges and priorities. This provides team members with an exciting opportunity to work directly with senior leaders on a day-to-day basis, across a range of different activities.

As Business Support Supervisor, your responsibilities will include assisting with the planning and delivery of a range of Business Support projects and initiatives; communicating and building effective relationships with stakeholders across a range of teams, carrying out research and analysing information, co-ordinating and facilitating meetings and producing / updating key process documentation.

We’re looking for candidates who have shown their potential for managing a team and are looking to take the next step. You will have experience of delivering initiatives (e.g. process improvements), excellent organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and an ability to work flexibly to balance priorities.

A key priority for this post is to develop and motivate what is still a new team within the Directorate(s) to deliver great service to our internal customers in areas such as staff recruitment, induction, workforce development, building management, purchasing and staff wellbeing. We particularly welcome candidates with interests in and experience of these areas.

What we offer in return

  • 26 days holiday plus approx.16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
