Business Support Manager

The University of South Wales is currently recruiting for a Business Support Manager to join our Academic Registry to play a central role in a dynamic and busy department.  The role, will underpin business support for the department, providing a business process framework, resources management (financial and human), records management, departmental administration and oversight of core student records.

The role will include the following duties;-

·         Design, implement and maintain a business process framework

·         Create, build, and design the use of standard document templates and document control

·         Provide oversight of departmental projects

·         Provide a business support function to Academic Registry for HR administration, financial administration and performance review

·         Review, redesign and implement new business processes

·         Ensure business process compliance

·         Provide MI and data for the Academic Registry Senior Management Team (SMT)

·         Construct and draft reports on behalf of the SMT

·         Manage and deliver key Academic Registry compliance services

·         Manage business support team and central student records team

You need;-

·         Proactive and positive approach

·         Minimum of 3 years’ experience within business support

·         Ability to develop, deliver and maintain your team’s services to a high performance level

·         High standards in written, verbal and presentation skills

·         Strong relationship, influential and networking skill sets

·         Customer first mindset by building key customer and colleague relationships

Location of work:

Many of our teams are currently working from home however we are planning to return to a new hybrid model where staff will spend their time between home working and office working as appropriate by the spring of 2022. The principal location of work for this role will be the Pontypridd campus, although staff may need to travel and work at any of the three USW campuses. This is a full-time permanent role.  A flexible approach to working hours may be necessary, with some work occasionally taking place outside normal office hours.

If you are a successful external candidate for this position, you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.  If you are an internal candidate, you will continue to be employed by the University of South Wales.
