The Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit (ECTU) at the Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for an Assistant Data Manager. ECTU has a proven track record on delivering research and answering important questions about treatment and service delivery within the NHS. We work closely with patient groups and clinicians who are outstanding in their field.

The Opportunity:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and highly organised person who is able to work independently, managing your own workload and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Applicants will have experience in a clinical research environment and will possess good problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

The post holder will assist with the development of ECTU data management plans and case report forms, advising on best practice. They will manage the ECTU trial data cleaning and data query resolution process and lead the development process for study data collection systems using off-the-shelf software packages. They play a pivotal role within the Data Management & Programming Team ensuring good practice and adherence to data management quality systems, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Research Governance Framework.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Relevant degree or 5 years’ relevant work experience in a regulatory environment.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a clinical research environment.
  • Proven experience with database management.
  • Ability to work within strict guidelines and prioritise workloads.
  • Experience in working with confidential data.
  • Strong IT literacy (MS Office) skills
