Are you an Application Support specialist looking to broaden your skills across a global service management aligned organisation?

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for an experienced Application Support Analyst to join our Digital & Technology Services team at an unprecedented time of change and digital transformation.

As Application Support Analyst, you will work within an established team, dedicated to ensuring that the portfolio of global services which underpin and provide data for the university’s business processes operate and are maintained to the high standards expected by the University of Nottingham.

The role will be responsible for supporting business applications, owning and resolving incident and problem requests, liaising with internal teams and suppliers to maintain and optimise live services and undertaking investigations to identify the root cause/fix of complex technical issues. You will also act as a gatekeeper and will participate in daily operations stand-ups and contribute to problem management meetings.

Your background will include proven experience of providing second line technical support in complex IT environments with a broad understanding of a range of operating, systems, web applications and database technologies. You will be an effective communicator, able to translate messages clearly to non-technical audiences and have the ability to lead and inspire others though complex problem-solving challenges. Ideally you will have experience of supporting enterprise level Finance or HR applications.

At the University of Nottingham, we aim to give you all the support you need to nurture your talent, develop and reach your professional and personal career goals. We are committed to providing competitive employment packages whilst supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a university employee, you will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and attractive pension scheme.

As the successful candidate, you will be educated to HNC level/equivalent with a proven track record of relevant work experience. You will ideally possess an ITIL qualification and have experience of working in a structured ITIL environment.

This is a full-time (36.25 hours), fixed-term post for 2 years. Applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Arrangements for job share may be considered.
