About the Role

We require an Accounts Payable Manager to play an important role within the high-performing, busy Finance Department. The successful candidate will manage a team of 10 staff and be responsible for the settlement of supplier invoices and expenses in addition to managing the University purchasing card scheme.

The team received 93,000 supplier invoices in the financial year ending 31 July 2023.

About You

  • You have experience of managing an Accounts Payable team in a large, multi-site, multi-currency, organisation operating an end-to-end Purchase to Pay process
  • You have a detailed understanding of an effective Purchase to Pay process and the ability to articulate this to others
  • You possess strong communication skills; excellent written and numerical skills
  • You have good interpersonal skills, demonstrated by an ability to develop and progress working relationships with staff across the University, colleagues and key external bodies.
  • Ability to build a customer-led service-orientated professional team
  • You have experience of using an ERP system and experience of producing test scripts for testing system developments and upgrades.  You have a passion for continuous improvement and developing systems to support the efficiency of the team.

About the Department

The role is based in the Finance Department of the Professional Services Directorate and is one of 4 manager roles reporting into the Deputy Director of Finance, Financial Controls and Systems.
