An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the administrative team in the College of Business and Social Sciences (BSS) Office

You will be responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient support service to undergraduate and Exchange students, working closely with academic and professional colleagues, plus a range of central support services. This includes responsibility for student records ensuring their maintenance and accuracy.  The role is vital in supporting students and enhancing their experience of studying at Aston, whilst also ensuring consistency and efficiency of administrative processes and assisting with the development and implementation of key strategic initiatives. You will act as an advisor for students who may be experiencing difficulties, alongside managing various complex administrative processes. You will line manage a team of student support coordinators, represent the College on University-wide committees and working groups, advise on complex decisions and manage/create information via Solve and our VLE (Blackboard). 

Educated to Degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of supervising or managing staff within the Higher Education sector, preferably in a student support related or customer focused role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to plan and organise a large workload under pressure and with minimal supervision. Excellent problem solving skills and a high level of accuracy are essential. Experience of working with SITS and Blackboard is also desirable.
