Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Engineering Systems and Supply Chain Management which has one of the UK’s leading faculties for Supply Chain Management teaching and research.  Part of the School of Infrastructure and Sustainable Engineering, within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, we apply an engineering perspective to Supply Chain Management, though we collaborate with colleagues across the university, including in Business and Social Sciences.

We offer a range of degrees and study modes. Our work-based and apprenticeship programmes deliver close relationships with some of the biggest names in sectors including manufacturing, automotive & 3PL, providing outstanding opportunities for collaboration.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Department’s research, teaching, and external engagement, including through -

  • Working on research projects and proposals, & writing up research for publication; supervising student projects; collaborating on research in and beyond the Department/School
  • Teaching/proving support to students at all levels of study, and carrying out associated processes; contributing to programme design and content; innovating in delivery and assessment; engaging with quality assurance
  • Helping students on industrial placements; delivering research impact; pursuing opportunities for industrial engagement; enhancing the University’s reputation with professional bodies 

We are looking for someone with qualifications and experience in Supply Chain Management, with expertise in resilience, sustainability or ethics being a particular advantage. You should also have the ability to work with a range of learners, including those on non-standard programmes is an important attribute, as is the desire to contribute to a positive, collegiate environment, building good relationships with students, industry partners and colleagues.
