Aston University are looking to recruit for an exciting opportunity within a forward-thinking Health & Safety Team.  The university is made up of three academic colleges: The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, The College of Health and Life Sciences, and the College of Business and Social Sciences.

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will work with colleagues within the College of Health and Life Sciences to provide professional advice and assistance to ensure legal compliance and to incorporate best practice into all aspects of college operations. 

You will support the Director of Health, Safety and Business Continuity, and the Health and Safety Business Partners to deliver the objectives in the University’s Health and Safety Strategy and drive the continuous improvement of Health and Safety Management throughout the College. You will work closely with the Health and Safety Business Partner for the College of Health and Life Sciences to deliver a high quality service.

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Level 3 Qualified in Occupational Health & Safety Management or a willingness to work towards
  • Degree or relevant qualification in a science based discipline such as Biological Science or Biomedical Science
  • Membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body
  • Good current knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
