Your mission :


The Research Computing Platform is looking for two Systems Engineers to strengthen the capabilities of our internal team in the support and development of our offerings.

We are a small team, and we collaborate thoroughly with all the IT teams within EPFL, be it central IT or Schools IT. We offer IT services needed for research; hence we ensure a permanent dialogue with our stakeholders.

Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • Support, maintenance, and documentation of internal services, namely storage, and computing
  • Participation in the administration and evolution of our services offerings
  • Design, implementation, and development of new projects / interfaces related to existing applications / new tools
  • Communication with IT proximity support teams and end-users on best practices

Your profile :
  • University Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent training in Systems Engineering
  • Solid experience in Linux server administration and related common services
  • Solid experience in operating hardware in datacenters such as servers, network devices, and storage
  • Comfortable with DevOps and automation tools such as Containers Runtimes, Kubernetes, Ansible, Git
  • Previous experience in the management of storage systems (Enterprise NAS)
  • Methodical, organized, reliable, committed, team player
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs, capacity to proactively propose pragmatic solutions
  • Good communication skills and a good understanding of business challenges
  • Fluency in written and spoken, in French and English
