Your mission :
The Infrastructure Section of the faculty STI is looking for a project manager in order to achieve the strategic sustainability objectives of EPFL. The main objective is to reduce the Faculty's ecological footprint by integrating and developing environmental sustainability tools/projects (in collaboration with the Vice-Presidency for Responsible Transformation)


Main duties and responsibilities include :

Under the responsibility and with the collaboration of the STI head of infrastructure:


  • Sustainability Strategy Development:
  • Collaborate with STI units to define sustainability objectives and develop a comprehensive sustainability strategy, best practices and innovative approaches for integrating sustainability into laboratories
  • Environmental Impact Assessment:
  • Evaluate the environmental impact of labs activities, including energy consumption, waste management, and other relevant domains
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to reduce the lab’s ecological footprint.
  • Energy Efficiency:
  • Assess energy consumption within the labs and identify opportunities for energy tracking and potential conservation.
  • Implement measures to reduce energy usage
  • Professor’s Engagement:
  • Collaborate with Professors to apply sustainability goals and engage them in sustainable practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders to ensure their active participation in sustainability initiatives.
  • Reporting and Evaluation:
  • Monitor and track sustainability performance indicators to assess the lab's progress towards sustainability goals.
  • Prepare regular reports on sustainability achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future improvements.

    • Experience in a research environment
    • Experience in sustainable development
    • Methodical, organized, reliable, committed
    • Good communication skills, which allows you to easily deal with people from different hierarchical levels
    • Ability to adapt, proactivity and good team spirit
    • Fluency in English is essential.
