As ETH's central hub for artificial intelligence, the ETH AI Center fosters research excellence, industry innovation, and AI entrepreneurship to promote trustworthy, accessible, and inclusive AI systems for the benefit of society. We are looking for a dynamic personality who proactively contributes in the sense of learning by doing, thinks ahead, takes on tasks independently and implements them very precisely and reliably. As Science Communications Manager, you work closely with leading AI researchers, start-ups, and industry partners to put groundbreaking findings and their implications into a bigger perspective.  The Science Communications Manager position is available at the ETH AI Center of ETH Zurich starting January 2022 or by agreement.

Job description

• Work closely with leading researchers of the ETH AI Center to present significance of breakthrough results in the larger societal and business context
• Integrate multiple perspectives from stakeholders from research to industry to start-ups
• Work closely with ETH’s Corporate Communications team and work ~1 day per week from their offices
• Shape the public presence of the ETH AI Center (including web presence, mailings, social media, printed materials)
• Organize flagship events and workshops
• Support the management of the ETH AI Center

Your profile

• Ideally you have an university degree (Bachelor, Master) and experience in the fields of communications, scientific writing, and project management 
• A communicative, flexible, independent and reliable personality
• Persistence, drive, and great self-organization skills
• Experience in organizing events and workshops with an interdisciplinary audience
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
• Basic graphic design skills (image editing, handling of graphic software, print products)
• Coordination of web design incl. social media content creation and implementation
• Very good MS Office skills
