The position is available immediately or upon agreement.

Project background

The Laboratory studies molecular signaling pathways that regulate metabolism and metabolic disease. Our experimental approaches involve a broad range of molecular, cellular and genomic methods and the construction of mouse models of metabolic diseases that recapitulate key characteristics of carbohydrate and lipid disorders with a current focus on pancreatic islets, kidney and liver. An important focus of our current studies is the elucidation of the role of coding and non-coding RNAs in metabolism and to use RNA therapeutics to interfere with disease processes. The aim is to translate our findings into potential new treatments for human metabolic diseases. We offer an interesting and versatile position in an international team and modern laboratory dedicated to biomedical research and continuous education.
