Research Assistant in organic geochemistry and microbiology

As part of a project investigating CO2 emissions from sedimentary rocks in mountains, we are looking for a laboratory research assistant interested in environmental sciences, organic geochemistry and/or microbiology.


Job description

You will be assisting a post-doctoral researcher in improving microbial membrane lipid recovery from complex environmental samples such as rocks, and investigating the causes of their difficult extraction by conducting a series of tests. The laboratory work includes solvent extraction, column chromatography, and DNA extractions and sequencing.


Your profile
  • You must have a good command of English
  • You must have a good knowledge or geochemistry, geobiology, and/or microbiology
  • Available full time or 15 h/week during the semester for students
