Your mission :

EPFL is contributing to the evidence-based evolution of education both internally and externally. Through its Center LEARN, a range of educational innovation interventions are designed, implemented and empirically tested. One axis of work is educational robotics and EPFL has been strongly active in various projects (for example as part of the NCCR robotics ). The work around the educational robot Thymio received the Polytechnikpreis 2022, identifying it as a lighthouse project for STEM didactics. Previous research and implementation work around educational robotics has been federated with the goal to provide opportunities and resources to teachers. This has led to the creation of the robotic teacher community Roteco (https://www.roteco.ch/ ).

We search for an education and robotics enthusiast to coordinate the various educational robotics and computer science education offers.


Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • create overview of all educational actions with robots (mainly Thymio) across Switzerland
  • promote the educational value of robots among cantons, schools, teacher associations, teacher training institutions, and other stakeholders to create maximal impact
  • identify needs and opportunities for educational robotics in Switzerland
  • create links among various initiatives: MOOC on Thymio, Roteco, R2T2 , books, but also external training, festivals, digital days, webinars, conferences and workshops (mainly in Switzerland)
  • Roteco: animate the web platform for teachers, promote the platform among users and multiplicators, contribute to content, create links between teachers
  • monitor and evaluate Roteco and the MOOC, concerning its pedagogical and educational impact, trigger evolution based on experiences and data
  • function as interface for all stakeholders
  • contribute to the activities of the Center LEARN; especially organisation of events and workshops

Your profile :
  • Bachelor / Master in science or in education
  • Teacher / teaching experience
  • Knowledge in computer science
  • Experience with (educational) robotics, EdTech, STEM education
  • Experience with communication and event organisation
  • Experience or training in STEM area
  • Mastery of French; English and German welcome
