Unique opportunity: facilitate life scientists' journey towards successful translation and bioentrepreneurship
Research at the Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) aims at replacing or regenerating human cells or tissues with the goal to restore or establish normal function. By using its designated clinical translational facilities ranging from Cleanroom Technologies (GMP Center for Therapy Development) to Clinical Trials (Center for Prevention and Dementia Therapy), the IREM mission is to bring basic research into clinical application.
IREM's BioEntrepreneurship & Innovation (BEI) program offers hands-on training for life scientists to become economically successful entrepreneurs in BioTech, MedTech or Pharma. The UZH IncubatorLab, made possible by a donation from the Werner Siemens Foundation and hosted by IREM, offers a state-of-the-art infrastructure for innovative MedTech projects led by young scientists who aim to establish a UZH spin-off company.
Your responsibilities
This function covers the operational planning and execution of projects within the UZH IncubatorLab and the BEI program. This includes:
  • Contributing to the further development of content and tools
  • Preparation, implementation and follow-up of all coaching events, incl. acquisition and organisation of course instructors and speakers
  • Coordination with UZH Innovation and other internal/external partners
  • Contact person for all stake holders
  • Purchase of equipment and consumables
  • Administration (scheduling, event planning, cost accounting, budget control, reporting etc.)

Your profile
  • University degree, preferably PhD in the life sciences
  • Start-up experience
  • Self-reliant and flexible way of working
  • Willingness to work proactively both independently and as part of a team
  • Very good communication skills in dealing with new target audiences
  • Interest in the academic environment in connection with practical implementation
  • You have very good written and spoken German and English skills
