The Swiss School of Public Governance (SSPG) at ETH Zurich enhances critical public administration capabilities by teaching relevant competencies to public officials and other professionals working in areas of governance and public management. It combines global perspectives with Switzerland’s experience on governance issues for that purpose. As part of the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (D-MTEC), the SSPG draws on the strengths of various departments of ETH Zurich and works in close cooperation with other institutions and centres.

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator who carries out our existing and evolving continuing education portfolio and related activities.

Employment start as soon as possible or upon mutual agreement. The position is limited but has the potential to become permanent.


Job description

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the SSPG continuing education programmes, from preparation to implementation, evaluation, and development. In addition, you will support the school management in ongoing and new projects. Your tasks will mainly include:

  • Coordinating the delivery and development of the programme curricula 
  • Managing and offering guidance to different stakeholders: internal ETH entities, lecturers, students, alumni, external partners and interested candidates
  • Handling programme applications and the general study administration
  • Organizing the logistics of the programmes and other events: room reservations, catering, invitations, etc.
  • Processing and monitoring of programme finances
  • Handling the communication and marketing activities of the SSPG: management of the website and social media, conducting marketing campaigns, producing marketing materials
  • Supporting the school management in administrative matters
  • Contributing to the conceptualization of new academic programmes and projects

Your profile
  • You hold a minimum of a Master's degree, preferably in either public / non-profit management, social and political sciences, or a related field.
  • You have an excellent written and oral command of German and English. A good command of French is an advantage.
  • You are familiar with managing websites and social media content.
  • Ideally, you have experience in managing study programmes or academic projects, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • You have an interest in the Swiss public and non-profit sector, including higher education institutions.
  • You are customer-oriented and have outstanding communication as well as interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • You are enthusiastic about public management, governance and administration and have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
