The position will be located at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology (IPT) of UZH and will be jointly affiliated with the Faculty of Science.

For a tenured position, the successful candidate should be an internationally renowned scientist in the field of synthetic or chemical biology with the aim to study fundamental or disease-associated biological processes and a record of high-quality teaching. For a tenure-track position, we look for out-standing talents with proven track record at the beginning of their independent career. The candidate will augment the existing excellence within the IPT, the Center for Neuroscience Zurich (ZNZ) and Drug Discovery Network Zurich (DDNZ), and will bring in new expertise in the development of precision medicine approaches to human diseases, preferentially with a current or future interest in diseases of the nervous system. 

Relevant research areas include (but are not limited to):
•    Synthetic biology
•    Chemical biology
•    (Computational) Protein engineering
•    Systems biology
•    Delivery of biological therapeutics
