Your mission :

An on-site, 2+1 year postdoc position is available at the Laboratory of Astrophysics (

LASTRO

) of

EPFL

(Switzerland) in the group of Dr. Emma Tolley.

The position is part of an SNSF starting grant project Deep Waves and is within the broad topics of computational astrophysics and extensions to the standard dark matter paradigm.


Main duties and responsibilities include :

We are looking for an enthusiastic and independent postdoctoral researcher who can lead next generation simulations of beyond Cold and Collisionless Dark Matter simulations. The position will be to leverage physics-informed neural networks to accelerate simulations of Fuzzy/Axion Dark Matter. However there will be plenty of scope for the researcher to follow their own research interests. Candidates will be expected to actively contribute to all departmental activities including public outreach and diversity, equality and inclusion events.


Your profile :
  • A formal requirement for the position is a PhD in physics/astrophysics.
  • A background in computational astrophysics, simulations and high performance computing would be extremely beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of English is required.

The successful applicant will join LASTRO which is led by Prof. Jean-Paul Kneib and focuses on research in extragalactic astrophysics and observational cosmology. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Emma Toley.
