The successful candidate should have a PhD degree in Materials Science, Physical Metallurgy, Applied Physics or Mechanical Engineering with a strong emphasis on Materials Processing. A strong background in metal additive manufacturing, the processing and characterization of metal powders as well as experience with microstructure characterization techniques (OM, SEM, EBSD, (HR-)TEM, XRD) and mechanical testing are required.

A strong desire to work at the leading edge of materials technology and a high level of motivation to work in an international, multidisciplinary research team in the field of materials processing are essential. The candidate should have a clear interest to work in an application-driven research environment with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment in close-collaboration with our many industrial and academic partners, both in Switzerland and abroad.
