Stereoselective catalysis
Ph.D. position in synthetic chemistry at the University of Basel, Department of Chemistry in catalyst and reaction development. We just published the first method for the stereoselective synthesis of ammonium ions with stereogenic nitrogen centers under catalyst control (doi.org/10.1021/acs.orglett.3c00195 ). We want to extend the scope and selectivity, develop new reactions and investigate the utility of ammonium ions with stereogenic nitrogen centers.
The successful candidate has a background in organic or organometallic synthesis and experience with the accompanying analytical techniques; in particular, NMR and MS. HPLC experience would be advantageous.
The project will start as soon as possible once a suitable candidate has been identified.
