Marketing & Communication Manager CYBATHLON

The project team of CYBATHLON, ETH Zurich is looking for a Marketing & Communication Manager to support the team on the Road to CYBATHLON 2024! 

CYBATHLON  is funded by manifold and committed partners supporting the project on its way to the main event in October 2024. To promote CYBATHLON to potential partners and to develop common content with our existing partners, but also to promote the participating teams, the competition, the CYBATHLON @school project, and further subprojects and events to the national and international audience, we are looking for a creative and dedicated individual to join our team.

The position is limited until December 2024 with an option to extend. The job can be started in June 2023 and will be 80%.

Project background

ETH Zurich's CYBATHLON is a not-for-profit project that offers a platform to advance research in the field of assistive technology. Its goals are to promote dialogue with the public about the inclusion of people with disabilities in everyday life and the research and development of assistive technologies. “Main Driver” is a unique, international competition in which people with physical disabilities compete with and against each other to complete everyday tasks using state-of-the-art technical assistance systems. Job description

In this position, you will create content-related partner communication together with our sponsors, patrons, and donors – online (social media and website) and on-site. In addition, you will create ideas to attract potential new partners together with our partnership team. Planning and implementing partner communication – online and on-site and creating communication about the participating teams, the competition, CYBATHLON @school and further subprojects, our events and more, will be other duties of this position. You independently create graphics/templates (PPT, DOC, InDesign, etc.) according to our CD. Furthermore, you are responsible for the creation of graphics and materials (posters, merchandising, venue branding, flyers, etc.) according to our CD in cooperation with agencies/freelancers (briefings and acceptance). You will gladly support the team on-site at events and competitions.

Your profile

You:

• are dedicated to promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities
• have a degree in communications, marketing or similar fields and you are familiar with event organisation
• can create communication concepts and plans
• have an eye for branding and graphics and experience in social media communication
• are a good writer with proficiency in English and German and can simplify complex topics into easy-to-understand stories
• are a good communicator with fluency in English and German and have an interest in social, scientific, and technical topics
• are a very reliable and structured organiser, who maintains an overview even in stressful situations
• like to work in large, international, interdisciplinary teams and enjoy dealing with people from different cultures and countries
• are friendly, open-minded, proactive, trustful, and innovative
• are aware that the job can bear a high workload and you are flexible regarding working hours, especially around the time of CYBATHLON events
