Project background

The Marketing and Communications Specialist at ETH AI Center plays a pivotal role in enhancing the institute's outreach and visibility. Responsible for crafting compelling content and managing communication channels, the Marketing and Communications Specialist contributes to promoting the cutting-edge advancements and achievements within the artificial intelligence domain. With a focus on strategic marketing initiatives, this role ensures the ETH AI Center maintains a strong presence in the global AI community, fostering collaboration and engagement.


Job description

As a Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the public presence of the ETH AI Center. Your responsibilities will include leading digital marketing campaigns, creating and distributing our monthly newsletter, as well as producing visuals and graphics for all the AI Center's communication channels. Additionally yoy will be producing blog posts, copywriting material, and design and conceptualize informational materials. You will take charge of implementing the Center's social media strategy and publishing updates on relevant developments across the AI Center's social media channels. You will collaborate with the Event Manager and their team for the ETH AI Center flagship events and manage the marketing collaboration with the Center's partners. This role requires a proactive approach to communication and marketing tasks, contributing to the overall success of the ETH AI Center's outreach efforts.


Your profile

​​​​Requirements

  • A university degree (ideally Master or PhD) with exposure to internatioal affairs and AI topics
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of German is advantageous
  • Experience in the fields of communications, social media management, marketing, and / or graphic design
  • Previous work experience in a similar role at the intersection of academia, startups and industry partners, with a portfolio demonstrating successful ideation and implementation of marketing strategies
  • Proficient in the application of standard design software such as Wix, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advanced knowlege of a diverse set of advertisment platforms such as Google ads, Tiktok ads, Meta ads with delivery of tangible KPIs
  • Proven ability to ideate, create, and deliver marketing and communication strategies  
  • Experience in steering a multi-stakeholder team's efforts in the promotion and content creation for large scale divulgation events  
  • Gained skill in crafting narratives to shape the external image of international environments or public institutions
  • Skilled in engaging in critical discussions on global affairs, producing compelling copy, and crafting speeches for high profile individuals 
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of building rapport with a diverse set of stakeholders including industry, entrepreneurship, and academia
  • Demonstrated involvement in projects or initiatives where AI technology was a key component, showing an ability to understand and communicate complex AI concepts
