Laboratory technician/Research assistant

Main duties and responsibilities include :

• Technical support for scientific projects in the following areas:

1. Assist in cell and molecular biology and biochemical experiments
2. Genotyping and phenotypic analysis of transgenic mouse lines
3. Histology, immunohistochemistry, or FACS analysis

• Electronic scheduling of tasks (weekly advance planning)

• Communication with animal facility staff about colony maintenance

• Contribution to laboratory maintenance duties

• Laboratory organization (updating of rotas; maintenance of equipment)

• Centralized ordering of consumables

• Depending on level of experience: coordination of laboratory safety; instruction of students in lab techniques


Your profile :
• Diploma of the lab technician school (CFC or ECL) or equivalent, or a biology master's degree
• Recently graduated (after 2022), or >3 years of experience in a molecular biology or mouse genetics research laboratory
• Experience in PCR, DNA cloning, mammalian cell culture, cell transfection, Western blot, immunofluorescence staining of cells or tissues
• Additional skills in microscopy imaging, tissue sectioning, or FACS analysis are a plus
• Clearly structured, detailed record keeping (electronic notebook)
• Languages: French and English (speak and write)
• Computer skills: MacIntosh or Windows, MS-Office
• Highly organized, dynamic and interactive personality
