The laboratory of Prof. Frédéric Allain is renowned for cutting-edge research in determining structures at atomic resolution of Protein-RNA-complexes using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR). Projects at the forefront include setting up a new methodology to map protein-RNA contacts at the single nucleotide and single amino-acid resolution and to determine their structure by a fast hybrid structural approach. Using these tools the laboratory aims to determine molecular bases of disease conditions towards finding novel targets for treatment.


Job description

In this position, you will be responsible for technical support to several research projects along with assistance in daily lab management.

  • Design, execute and interpret experiments to take forward research projects and collaborations.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of cloning strategies.
  • Assist in the management and updating of existing plasmid database and labeled nucleotide inventory in the laboratory.
  • Assist in the smooth functioning of the laboratory and maintenance of consumables for the laboratory.

Your profile

The laboratory is looking for an open-minded, reliable, responsible, individual with excellent technical skills and a cooperative and friendly personality.

  • MSc. degree or equivalent
  • Practical experience in industry or academia
  • Expertise with standard biology techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of English and German
  • A publication record in recognized peer-reviewed journals is considered a plus
