Your mission :

In this position, you will be part of the Industry Relation Office team of the Vice Presidency for Innovation (VPI). You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a long-term relationship by comprehending the needs and requirements of the industrial partners with a strong focus on transportation research. You can rely on a solid community across EPFL with about 100 laboratories related to transportation.


Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • Be the privileged point of contact for EPFL Laboratories and associated campus for innovation in the transport field and nurture the community across schools and institutes.
  • Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of companies in the field of transport having a long-term relationship with EPFL
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of laboratory and industry needs and ensure the correct collaboration models and services are developed and delivered.
  • Identify and research external partners (Private, non-profit and public sector organizations) which are aligned with the EPFL strategy.
  • Ensure link with EPFL entities depending on the needs.
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts using key account metrics. Maintain a database of contact and activities.
  • Support and participate in the organization of events and development of services dedicated to transfer of technology to society

Your profile :
  • Passion for science and technology-driven innovation
  • At least three years of relevant experience and/or training or equivalent combination
  • Former experience in product development and/or innovation management in a technology company
  • Experience in providing solutions based on customer needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organization levels and different cultures.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability in problem-solving and negotiation.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required, fluency in French a very strong asset, and other languages (e.g., German/Swiss German) would be a plus
  • Team player, autonomous, flexible, curious with a strong commitment to results.
  • Scientific or engineering background (Bachelor or Master degree in engineering EPF or HES), with a preference in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer science.
