50%-60%, Zurich, fixed-term

gta exhibitions is part of the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta) at ETH Zurich. As an interface between theory and practice, the exhibition program brings the research and teaching of the Department of Architecture to the public. The thematic field of architecture is broadened across disciplines and critically reflected with an experimental approach to the medium of the exhibition.

Job description

You are responsible for developing exhibitions in the field of architecture, art, and theory. You conceive monographic and thematic exhibitions in collaboration with the gta exhibitions’ team, members of the Department of Architecture, and beyond. You work both on historical and contemporary subjects. Additionally, you organize events to create synergies with the curricula of the school and to involve a larger audience. As editor, you work on publications deriving from the exhibition program.

The position begins in March 2022 (flexible). The initial term of employment is for 2 years, with the possibility of extension.

Your profile

We seek a candidate with an outstanding knowledge of architecture, art, and exhibition making and someone with the enthusiasm to engage in the activities of the larger architecture school – who is open to interacting with the numerous professors, teachers, and students, and at the same time has a precise vision of a personal curatorial approach. Preferably you have an academic degree in either curatorial studies, architecture, art history or the like.
