The 'Integrated and Wireless Systems' Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland is looking for a Characterization Engineer.


Description

Your mission

Join our dynamic team of experienced and emerging RF and Timing IC designers in the role of a characterization engineer. Take responsibility for the test and characterization of state-of-the-art RF, analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for both industrial and research projects. Be part of our group's mission to pave the way for industry technology transfer while actively contributing to our research and development initiatives. Join us in shaping the future of RF ICs!

Your responsibilities

Interact with our experts in the field of radio, analog, software, and system design while defining and realizing the characterization of RF integrated circuits, from the definition of the test strategy during the IC design phase until having a fully qualified circuit.

Specify and design the electronic prototypes, evaluation boards, and demonstrators.

Specify electronic components to be incorporated in these electronic designs.

Design and assemble PCBs.

Interpret electrical schematics and read design documents.

Write test and characterizations reports.

Validate electronic circuits functionally and parametrically.

Work together with international customers and international universities and research institutes, giving support for the use and integration of our circuits in their products/projects.

Plan and document activities, respecting requirements and deadlines.

Innovate, think out of the box, challenge yourself.


Requirements

Know-how

MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (electronics, microelectronics, microtechnology)

Experience in the characterization and test of electronic circuits from baseband to RF

An excellent knowledge on the best practices in the characterization and debugging of RF electronic circuits.

Experience with PCB design

Experience with programming languages (mainly Python) and version controlling tools and environments (Gitlab).

Interpersonal skills

An innate curiosity and eagerness to explore, learn, and discover

Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and technologies

Ability to work effectively in a diverse team, collaborating with both experienced and young IC designers.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and engage in practical, hands-on activities to contribute effectively to projects.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

A proactive approach with a focus on achieving tangible outcomes.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Capable of organizing tasks efficiently, managing time effectively, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Fluency in English, with French and German also being valued.
