Assistant in Education and Communication at the Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center

The Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center is a competence center in plant science in Switzerland located at the Universities of Zurich and Basel and ETH Zurich. More than 600 members from three universities combine their individual expertise to create an internationally visible profile in research, education and outreach. PSC is carrying out two PhD programs with around 160 doctoral students and coordinates large European-funded Marie-Curie fellowship programs.


Job description

We are searching for an assistant for 20% to support in the PSC team in the following tasks:

  • Support of the educational team in the administration and evaluation of the course program in the back office
  • Support in the communication of research results from our fellowship programs on social media and other PSC-related channels
  • Support in the organization of events

Working times are flexible and can include home office. Willingness to be available at the location during courses and other events and for regular meetings is necessary.


Your profile
  • Ongoing Master or doctorate (enrollment at ETHZ or University) in one of the disciplines of Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center
  • Fluent in English both written and oral
  • Very good organization skills
  • Already some experience in communicating science through social media and blog article writing
  • Confident user knowledge in office programs, content management systems (Magnolia, Wordpress) and other
