A position as a researcher in Plant Genomicsis available at the Department of Ecology and Genetics, Plant Ecology and Evolution.

Polyploids are very common among plants. In the present project new genomic data will be produced and analyzed to better understand structural genomic changes between  the allopolyploid species Capsella bursa-pastoris and its diploid ancestors Capsella grandiflora och Capsella orientalis.

Duties
DNA extraction, bioinformatic analysis, population genetics and evolutionary interpretation of the data, drafting of manuscript.

Qualifications required
A doctoral degree, or a foreign degree equivalent to a doctoral degree, in plant biology or any other relevant field.  Good labwork ability, strong bioinformatic knowledge, and understanding of  population genetics and evolutionary biology. We attach great importance to personal qualities such as ability to work in a group. Candidates must be able to express themselves in spoken as well as written English.

Qualifications desired
To have already work with polyploids.

About the employment
Individual salary. Starting date 2023-01-01, or as agreed. The position is a temporary position until 2023-05-31. Scope of employment:100%.
