The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences is one of the university’s largest departments, with operations mainly in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Our aim is to engage in medical and biomedical education and research of high international standing. At undergraduate level the department is responsible for most of the medical program, the speech and language pathology program and the biomedical program. We are looking for a Principal research engineer in Cell Biology.

The position
You will work independently in our research group with cell biological and immunological research focused on autoimmunity. Collaboration with other research groups in the field as well as reporting and presentation of research results in seminars and group meetings will also be part of your duties.

The person we need
We are now looking for someone with a PhD in Cell biology or another field relevant to the position, as well as a completed postdoc from another international university. Experience of independent cell biological and immunological research focused on autoimmunity is a requirement for the position. You also have documented experience with the following methods and techniques:

  • Cell culture
  • DNA, RNA purification and analysis
  • Isolation of different cell populations and exosomes in human blood
  • Digital droplet PCR technique
  • ELISPOT methodology
  • Immunological techniques such as immunofluorescence, Western blot, ELISA, Multiplex assay, biofilm preparation

Experience in research on autoimmune conditions is seen as a merit.

The position requires very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

You are characterized by good communication and collaboration skills and are accommodating and responsive. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

You will work at the Division of Cell Biology (CELLB) , in Anders Rosén's research group.
