Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Chronic inflammation is a critical residual risk for the health to CVD transition with limited possibilities to stop it without causing immunosuppression. To tackle this issue, the research group Translational Cardiology at the Department of Medicine Solna propose to identify the resolution of inflammation with focus on vascular smooth cells in atherosclerosis. As chronic inflammation and CVD are driven and regulated by lipids, this postdoctoral project will focus on lipid mediators.

Your mission

Postdoctoral research studies with participation in all aspects of work at the laboratory of the Translational Cardiology research group. The project includes both epidemiology and bioinformatics, as well asmolecular biology and in vivo and in vitro studies.

Your profile

PhD in cardiovascular science with experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics, morphology and experimental cell and animal models. A background in biotechnology/bioengineering as well as the required formal competence for animal experiments is particularly meritorious. For this project, specific knowledge of single-cell RNA sequencing and genetic studies will be required.

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
