Offer Description

Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Join the Ziegenhain lab, part of the Division of Medical systems bioengineering (https://ki.se/en/mbb/research-division-of-medical-systems-bioengineering ) at the department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics. In our group we are interested in shedding light on central molecular processes in human cells, in particular with regards to the control of alternative splicing of transcribed mRNAs. For this, we develop and employ cutting edge single-cell sequencing and computational approaches.

Your mission

The successful candidate(s) will be working as a research assistant in projects aiming to decode alternative splicing mechanisms using single cell genomics. The research assistant will be an active member of the research group and support ongoing projects in the laboratory.

Your profile

We are recruiting 1-2 enthusiastic research assistants to work on exciting challenges in single cell genomics. The ideal candidate should have obtained a MSc degree in biotechnology, molecular biology, bioinformatics or a related field. We are looking for candidates with computational/bioinformatics backgrounds as well as candidates with experience in wet lab work.

Computational candidates should be familiar with and be able to demonstrate experience with the analysis of single cell or spatial genomics datasets in R or Python programming.

Experimental candidates should be familiar with molecular biology techniques and experience in NGS/genomics work is meriting.

All candidates must be able to fluently communicate in written and spoken English as well as demonstrate good team work skills.
