The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC is looking for a post-doctoral immunologist/molecular biologist to join Professor Gunilla Karlsson Hedestam's group to contribute to the group's project concerning the analysis of immune repertoires and variation in adaptive immune receptor genes through Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). The group's goal is to increase our understanding of how genetic backgrounds influence the diversity and function of adaptive immune responses. We are looking for a motivated, independent, and well-organized person with excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.


Your mission

You have a PhD in immunology and/or molecular biology and a genuine interest in understanding adaptive immunity at individual and population levels. Qualifications for the position include deep knowledge in molecular biology, immunology, immune repertoire analysis, genetics, and bioinformatics, as well as experience in programming and analysis with the tools IgDiscover and Corecount.


Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision.

It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
