The Department of Computer and System Science (DSV) is one of Sweden's oldest departments within IT and is Stockholm University's largest department. SPIDER (the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions) is an independent centre at the Department of Data and System Science (DSV), Stockholm University that focuses on digitization of international development cooperation.

We are now seeking a French speaking senior research coordinator in gender and technology who will lecture and conduct research on telecommunications regulation. This is part of a project where we foster inclusion among people through capacity development in telecommunications regulation and digitalisation. Main responsibilities

  • Collaborate and network with our French speaking partner countries
  • Responsibility for ensuring the research component of our projects in the French speaking partner countries is carried out professionally and encompasses inclusion, diversity and equity
  • Organise SPIDER’s research activities such as seminars and similar events
  • Communication of research results verbally and in writing
  • Capacity building workshops and lectures in inclusion, diversity and equity.

International work trips will occur

The French speaking research coordinator will have close contacts with researchers and other organizations important to the field internationally. Additional tasks are added in collaboration with other project implementing partners and are linked to the project’s mission. 

Qualification requirements

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field and good scientific competence in gender, technology and development research
  • Knowledge and Experience in aid and development issues
  • Documented experience from field research
  • Experience with SPIDER partner countries
  • Extensive knowledge on gender, technology and development
  • Experience moderating events
  • Experience in writing and editing scientific texts
  • Good communication skills and you express yourself well in speech and writing in French and English
  • Experience of capacity development with a focus on gender issues.

Merits:

  • Experience of coordination work (preferably as a project manager)
  • Experience in establishing strategic decision bases
  • Documented experience of developing and delivering lectures and workshops
  • Documented experience of handling development projects as well as practical experience of digitization
  • Experience in working in the public sector.

To succeed in the role as a research coordinator at SPIDER, you need to be interested in aid issues gender and digitalisation. You are meticulous and structured and have great integrity and diplomatic skills. Furthermore, you enjoy working with complex issues where you analyse and solve complicated problems. Great emphasis will be placed on personality.

Terms of employment
The position involves 40 % of full-time employment for a period of 12 months. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary. Start date immediately.
