OFFER DESCRIPTION

We are seeking for a highly motivated person with a high interest on nature-based solutions (NBS), especially green walls, for greywater treatment. This person will be supporting theoretical and practical research, under the framework of the MULTISOURCE EU project (multisource.eu);project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101003527. Specifically, he/she will be supporting the evaluation of the performance of a hybrid green wall (coupled with ozonation) treating greywater for toilet flushing reuse.

 

KEY DUTIES

He/she will support the study of the performance of a hybrid modular green wall for greywater treatment and toilet flushing reuse. He/she will be supporting the realization of the experiments with a full scale pilot located in the nearby region. The task in which he will be involved will be: 1) complement the state of the art on vertical gardens combined with advanced technologies for purifying greywater about a) the identification of the most common variables studied so far as well as physicochemical and microbiological pollutants analyzed; b) the design and operation variables against the removal of contaminants, including emerging ones; c) the advances achieved in terms of technical aspects of design; d) implementation and maintenance costs, energy demand. 2) support the evaluation of the performance of a novel vertical garden combined with ozonation for the purification and reuse of greywater. This task also includes the identification of potential correlation between water quality parameters results (including emerging pollutants) with existing normative for wastewater reuse. Finally it will also include the evaluation of the maintenance and related costs.

He/she must be creative, flexible, and eager to learn and to expand his/her scientific work.

Required Languages:

English, Catalan, Spanish

Required Experience:

Knowledge on wastewater treatment and water reuse.

 

Desirable

Any of the following past experiences will be judged favourably in the selection process:

Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and dissemination

Activities, knowledge/experencie in water treatment technologies, especially NBS such as green walls, constructed wetlands, and green roofs, but especially for water treatment purposes.

Valid driving license (type B).

Coursing a master’s degree.
