CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB

• Job location:  ICRA – Catalan Institute for Water Research, Girona, Spain
• Number of positions available: 1
• Expected start: October 2021
• Temporal position. The position is for 10 months (approximately)
• Gross Annual Salary package: The Gross Annual Salary inherent to the job position that is the object of the present call, will be established according to the experience provided and the aptitudes & skills of the candidates.

JOB PURPOSE / PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The technician will work in the project ¨STUDY OF NDMA FORMATION IN DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANTS AND REMOVAL OF ITS PRECURSORS¨

The key tasks of the technician are:

1 - Carry out laboratory-scale experiments on water treatment (ozonation, UV, advanced oxidation, etc.)

2 - Process samples (filter, extract and quantify results) for the analysis of disinfection by-products and other relevant contaminants

3- Assist with the chemical analysis of treated samples, when using complex equipment (e.g., LC-MS, GC-MS) and carry out the analysis when using simple equipment (e.g., LC-UV)

4 - Assist with the interpretation of results and writing of technical reports

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct experiments and tasks as described above.

Interpret the obtained results.

Edit scientific technical reports.

A small proportion of the time will be allocated to communal services such as joint laboratory maintenance etc.
