Offer Description
Professor Antonio Penta (ICREA, UPF and Barcelona GSE) is looking to hire a pre-doctoral researcher. The position is part time and will be based at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. The starting date is March, 2024. The appointment is until June, 2025), with renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance. The position is ideal for graduate students in economics, or for students with a long-term interest in economics who are looking for research experience in an academic setting prior to embarking on a Ph.D. in Economics.
Research Description: The research is on questions of decision theory and game theory and mechanism design. The job duties include:
1. Theoretical work: solving game theoretic models, problems of individual decision making, and calibration exercises.
2. Design and implementation of lab experiments.
3. Preparing literature reviews or summaries of research papers.
4. Attention to detail and documenting the research tasks performed are a crucial part of the job.

Annual gross salary 40.604,86 euros (approx.) according to current salary tables by category and work group: Group 2 Level h.
