Offer Description

Closing date: March 29, 2024.

The applicants are expected to:

  • have a PhD in biotechnology or natural sciences with a good background in chemistry,
  • have practical and theoretical experience in chemical analysis of plant samples using various advanced analytical techniques (liquid chromatography, gas chromatography in combination with various detectors) and modern techniques for preparation of plant samples for analysis,
  • actively participate in the existing and future research work of the Wine Research Centre and in the preparation of applications for new projects at national and international level,
  • accept teaching duties of up to ten hours per week in chemistry, oenological chemistry and chemical analysis of wine at basic and advanced level, as well as supervising students in project, diploma and master's theses at the University of Nova Gorica,
  • have active knowledge of the English language,
  • have the ability to work in a team,
  • have a Class B driver's licence.

Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae, evidence of qualifications, description of previous work experience, scientific and professional bibliography.

The suitable candidate will be offered a two-year full-time contract for the position of PhD Assistant with the possibility of extension.

The expected date of employment is 15.04.2024.
