Job Description

The Department of Pharmacy, one of the pioneering Departments in NUS, was founded in 1905, and is embarking on a strategic renewal to boost research and innovation. In the 2023 QS University Subject Ranking, pharmacy and pharmacology in NUS ranks top in Asia and 10th in the World rankings. The Department of Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore invites applicants for Teaching Assistant positions.

 

 Primarily, Teaching Assistants will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Oversee and conduct pharmacy practice related undergraduate classes
  • Assist in tutorials as needed
  • Co-develop assessment tasks and grading of assessments under guidance;
  • Provide support in the development of course materials;
  • Provide support in classes and assessments as needed;
  • Assist in supporting stakeholders who are involved in the education and training of Pharmacy students. Stakeholders may be Singapore Pharmacy Council, Health institutions, Pharma companies etc.

 

Teaching Assistants will also get to learn and explore the following:

  • Manage a Learning Management System that interacts with the students;
  • Various educational technologies eg. videos development, PollEv set up and advance PowerPoint presentations;
  • Various teaching pedagogies that are used for the education of health professionals including interprofessional education with medical, nursing and dental students.

Qualifications

Pharmacy Practice

The specific areas of expertise we are currently looking for include knowledge and practical skills in aspects of pharmacy and pharmacy practice. Candidates with the proficiency in creating online contents and improving user interface will be considered favourably.

 

Candidates must possess either a Bachelors or Masters degree in Pharmacy or other related fields. Pharmacists with entry-to-practice degrees such as M.Pharm. or Pharm.D. are also acceptable.
