Job Description

 

The School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) was established to drive the expansion of NUS’ lifelong learning offerings in a concerted and strategic way that furthers our mission to be a leading global university, as well as fulfil our role as a public university of Singapore, shaping the future.

Drawing on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of 16 other NUS Faculties/Schools, SCALE offers youth, executive and professional development/education programmes, part-time degree programmes, as well as modular courses that may be taken singly or stacked towards certificates/diplomas/degrees that meet the lifelong learning needs of individuals.  All programmes are designed and developed in consultation with the industry to ensure relevance and currency.

 

About the Role

 

To augment our manpower resources in the School, we are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join us as Senior Manager/Assistant Senior Manager (Planning & Strategy). 

 

Reporting to the Associate Director, the incumbent would be instrumental in assisting in a range of administrative duties that would be needed to execute in an efficient and effective manner to support the smooth functioning of the unit. 

 

Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with an annual variable bonus which is subject to the incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.  

 

The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of specific sectors to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the CET space
•    Analyse trends in the market, industry and competitors and translate the analysis into actionable recommendations for the University.
•    Use collected data through statistical tools and methodologies to uncover patterns, correlations, and insights that inform NUS’s understanding of the CET landscape
•    Design data-driven interventions and strategies to help CET units address identified issues, support growth, and enhance performance
•    Stay abreast of global trends and developments within the sector, ensuring that analysis and recommendations are current and relevant to NUS’s courses
•    Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop policies and strategies as needed 
•    Evaluate processes and procedures of each LET units to identify areas that need to be improved
•    Synthesize findings from research and analysis into clear, concise reports and presentations, highlighting key growth areas, challenges, and strategic opportunities to senior decision makers
•    Support the leadership on special assignments and projects
•    Engage in continuous learning and development to enhance skills and knowledge in sectoral analysis and related fields
•    Provide support to additional or ad hoc cross-departmental duties as assigned.


Requirements


Academic & Professional Certification
•    A bachelor’s degree in information science, business administration or education from a reputable university
•    Professional certification in ACLP/ACTA/DACE, PGCE or other adult-learning certification will be an added advantage
•    IT savvy and proficient in MS Office applications

 

Experience & Attributes 
•    At least 8-10 years of working experience in either research, grant administration, strategic/corporate planning or relevant roles 
•    Good portfolio in business development or product development preferably within the education landscape 
•    Proficiency in data/information analysis techniques and statistical tools
•    Good organisation acumen; excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders 
•    Understanding in SSG regulatory will be an added advantage
•    Dynamic and self-motivated individual who is a system thinker 
•    Meticulous, well-organised, detailed-oriented 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
