Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI)

The Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) is a non-profit organisation supported by the Ministry of Law, and a subsidiary of the National University of Singapore (housed at NUS’ Law Faculty).  Amongst other things, its mission is to set and achieve high mediation standards through the professionalisation of mediation, and to promote understanding of mediation, and facilitate its development and growth through research and innovation. 

 

We wish to invite individual(s) to join us as a Senior Executive to help us further our mission.


Job Description

You would be a self-starting, motivated person with a background or aptitude in one or more the following :

  • Customer relationship management
  • Marketing and communications
  • Event management

 

You will work independently yet closely under SIMI’s Manager and/or Executive Director, mediation agencies, and SIMI’s vendors to undertake the following:

  • Daily management of the SIMI Partner Scheme
  • Daily management of the SIMI Credentialling Scheme
  • Planning & execution of events to support SIMI’s mission to promote high mediation standards and develop a greater understanding and use of mediation
  • Operationalization and deployment of SIMI’s various marketing/publicity efforts for mediation standards
  • Other special projects, e.g. development of administrative policies

  • Critical Requirements and Skills

    You would have a background in any discipline, and more importantly, possess the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the context of interacting with stakeholders and an organization’s members, and writing reports and promotional materials.
  • Administrative skills : extremely well-organized, goal- and detail-oriented. 
  • Event management skills across a variety of platforms : face to face, hybrid, and online models.
  • Project management skills, particularly those involving processes.
  • Networking skills : to nurture ongoing relationships with members and external stakeholders.
  • IT skills : besides proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic ability or knowledge in website management and desktop publishing using HTML and CSS skills would be highly regarded.

  • Other Requirements

    It would be advantageous if you possess one or more of the following:

  • Experience in website maintenance and social media marketing (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter).
  • Certifications or experience in collaborative dispute resolution.
  • Experience using/managing a CRM / stakeholder management system.
  • Exposure to early/growth stage organizations.
