Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant (Radiology Technician) position, in the Department of Medicine with an affiliation to the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Program, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

The Maier lab concentrates on geroscience research with national and international partners  translating healthy longevity research into practice to improve health and healthspan.

We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant (Radiology Technician) to join our team to perform clinical assessments and clinical trial administration. Experience in clinical research is ideal but not required.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility of the research assistant (radiology technician, primarily focusing on dual x-ray absorptiometry) would be
  • preparing and educating clinical trial participants about the imaging procedure
  • reviewing participants' IDs and study requirements, and maintaining participants' records during and after procedures
  • perform the imaging procedure
  • calibrating the equipment to ensure clear, usable images are taken of the correct area, as specified by the study protocol
  • ensuring the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment, maintaining radiographic equipment, and reporting any equipment failures
  • maintaining up to date knowledge of current radiology practices
  • When imaging is not required, research assistant will be involved in clinical research , according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in ongoing clinical studies, including:
  • Administrating clinical assessments such as but not limited to muscular, cardiovascular and pulmonary tests
  • Administering surveys, questionnaires
  • Administering cognitive assessments

  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain clinical trial documentation, including SOPs, data records, equipment maintenance. 
  • Assess and validate new assessment methods, particularly imaging techniques before implementing into clinical research.
  • Recruit and schedule participants for study visits. 
  • Comply with clinical inventory management procedures.
  • Comply with good clinical practice. 

  • Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in radiography or radiologic technology, possess license and certification to practice, training in bone densitometry using dual x-ray absorptiometry is required
  • The ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills with participants, staff and collaborators
  • Experience in routine clinical assessments in research studies is advantageous 
  • Able to work independently and as a team member
  • Good interpersonal skills with strong leadership attributes
  • Must be meticulous and have good organization skills
