Research Assistant (Centre for Life Sciences - Neurobiology Program)

The National University of Singapore invites applications for research assistant position in the Polepalli lab at the Centre for Life Sciences - Neurobiology Program.  Appointments will be made on a 1-yr contract basis, with the possibility of an extension.

Purpose of the post

The appointee will be a research assistant who will conduct research in neuroscience a focus on elucidating the synaptic and circuit mechanisms that mediate memory-guided behaviours. The appointee will be trained in the use of techniques including rodent behavioral assays, rodent surgeries, whole cell electrophysiology, and molecular biology tools including adeno-associated virus generation.

This position could potentially be converted to a part-time PhD position.

Main duties and responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will be independent and will be involved in a multi-disciplinary project. They will be expected to perform rodent survival surgeries, molecular biology assays and rodent behaviour.
