Job Description

Successful candidate will work with Dr. Chang and her team on the characterization of fungal diversity in mangrove sediment ecosystems. The funded project aims to characterize and explore the species and functional diversity of fungi in mangrove sediments using an approach combining amplicon sequencing and fungal culturomics. 

The main job responsibilities of this position include: 

  • conduct fieldwork with other team members; 
  • perform molecular work in the lab (DNA extraction and PCR, and amplicon-sequencing library preparation); 
  • perform data analysis on metabarcoding sequencing data.
     

Qualifications

•    Qualifications / Discipline:
BSc in Life Science, Environmental Studies or related field

•    Skills:
Basic R and basic statistical skills.

•    Experience:  
Prior experience with DNA work and/or metabarcoding data analysis is preferred.
