Job Description

The laboratory of Presidential Young Professor Liu Yuxin at National University of Singapore (NUS Bioelectronic lab website: https://www.lab-liu.com/) seeks research assistant. The primary responsibility is to assist the principal investigator in administrative tasks and laboratory management. In addition, you will work on developing novel biosensors and bioelectronics to capture and analyze digital dynamic resilience biomarkers. Particularly, we will develop AI-integrated wearable electronics technology for biochemical dynamic resilience biomarkers. You will be part of the Welcome Leap Dynamic Resilience Program (https://wellcomeleap.org/dr/). 

Key Responsibilities

•    Assisting the PI in the management of the research group and its activities 
•    Managing laboratory resources such as equipment, supplies, and materials. This involves inventory control, ordering new supplies, and maintaining equipment to ensure functionality.
•    Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including safety training, managing lab staff, delegating tasks, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
•    Developing and managing the laboratory budget, including allocating funds for equipment purchases, maintenance, and other operational expenses.
•    Drive and facilitate multidisciplinary wearable electronic research project 
•    Work with clinicians and physicians for human clinical study
•    Conduct research in electrochemistry, sensors, flexible electronics research area
•    Design and implement IRB study on human subject 
•    Preparation of publications and managing other forms of research output 


Qualifications

 


•    Obtained or expecting bachelor’s degree in science or engineering 
•    Interested in bioelectronics, wearable electronics, electrochemical sensors, flexible electronics. 
•    Prior experience in conducting research experiments in an academic lab 
•    Interested in working in a multidisciplinary team 
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
•    Responsible and able to work independently   
•    Prior experience in managing project, laboratory or research funding is advantageous
•    Previous research experience in electrochemical sensors, actuators, flexible electronics and microfluidics is advantageous.
